- Our stadium is about to beat the record as the world's most expensive one - suggested famous Polish engineer, Edmund Obiała. All in all, he was not entirely right but the supporters had some initial difficulties accepting this most important Polish arena of the European Championships.
Nonetheless, one visit at the National Stadium is enough to realize that we finally have in our capital city a venue of the top world class with a replaceable sward (that is to be kept outside on daily basis once Euro ends), convertible roof and an immense surface for commercial and office-related purposes under the stands.
The stadium has a seating capacity of 58 thousands; there are 69 VIP lodges and four huge LED screens. What is more, there are 1,765 parking places, around 1,000 toilets and four restaurants.
"We have those arenas in Russia but designed only" - Jurij Butniew from the Russian "Moskowskiego Komsomolca" was under a huge impression of the construction.
Trivia
The spire situated above the middle of the field is 70 meters high. The usable area of the facility exceeds 200 thousands square meters. The entire length of the steel lines in the roof is 71 km, while the area of siding equals two hectares.
